A Display First, you’ll need a 3D-ready display–whether it’s a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. |

A Source Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you’ll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system. |

3D Content 3D content–the actual entertainment, in other words–will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it’s a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game. |

3D Glasses For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered “active shutter” glasses, others polarized “passive” glasses. FULL HD 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback
Advanced 2D image technology accumulated over the years at the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL) has also been applied to 3D image playback, allowing high quality images to approach original film quality. Life-like 3D images with dramatic leaping effects and enhanced depth, luster and texture are beautifully reproduced.
2D-3D Conversion
The 2D-3D Conversion makes it possible to convert images from DVDs and Blu-ray Discs into 3D with natural depth perception. This allows you to watch your prized DVD movie collection in 3D with real-life depth, for even greater viewing enjoyment.
3D Effect Controller
The 3D Effect Controller lets you moderate the leaping effects of 3D images. It also lets you adjust the amount of depth so you can view expansive images and enjoy movies with the exact kind of 3D effects you want.
Touch-Free Sensor
A motion sensor is now provided on the top panel of the Blu-ray Disc player. The disc tray can be opened or closed by simply passing your hand over the sensor. This is very useful when your hands are full or when you’re in a dark room and can’t see the buttons clearly.

Quick access to the menu screen
You can instantly access the Skype menu screen by simply pressing the Skype button on the remote control. This is very handy because it lets you easily access the menu screen even while you’re watching a TV program or movie.

VIERA Tools
The VIERA Tools user interface makes it easy to access and understand key functions. Simply press a function button, and an explanation appears on the screen. Keep the button pressed to activate the function immediately.
IPS Alpha LED LCD Technology
The IPS Alpha panel, which is known for its wide viewing angle and excellent light transmittance, is now further enhanced with a bright, energy-saving LED backlight. Images do not fade when viewed from an angle, and contrast is higher than in previous IPS Alpha models in spite of using less power. The IPS Alpha LED LCD TV offers superb color rendering and also contributes to the display’s slim design.
LED Backlight
This system places LED backlights on the top and bottom of the panel, and sends the light toward the center of the screen. Using light guides and diffusers, it distributes the light over the entire panel to provide backlighting. There is no need to cover the entire rear surface with LEDs, so the panel module is thinner and a great deal of energy is saved.
120Hz Motion Picture Pro 4
Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 60Hz video signal input, 120Hz Motion Picture Pro 4 makes 120 frames/second from 60 frames/second. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. Motion Focus Technology also reduces flicker and effectively suppresses blurring and afterimages.
Dynamic Contrast
By combining the highly light-transmissive IPS Alpha Panel and high-brightness LED backlight, Panasonic have attained both high contrast and low power consumption. Also, by detecting the contrasting parts of the scene, the backlight is adjusted to maintain a brightness that is optimal for each area. Deep blacks are reproduced with no fading. The contrast between the brilliance of diamond-like stars and the deep black of the night sky produces a sharp, crisp image.
Wide Viewing Angle
With VIERA’s wide 178°* viewing angle, you see clear, vibrant images from every seat in the room. The backlight features a wide transmission aperture that enhances contrast between light and dark and improves response to provide smoother motion images.
